Automobile repair services are not available within the immediate
vicinity of the region. The nearest establishments for car repairs and
maintenance are located in Levanto and La Spezia. These areas provide a
variety of automotive services, allowing individuals requiring repairs
to access assistance with relative ease, although it necessitates
traveling beyond the borders of the Cinque Terre. This circumstance
underscores the region's dedication to preserving its distinctive way of
life and environment, prioritizing pedestrian-friendly exploration over
reliance on automobiles.
Located just a short distance from our accommodations, the Azienda Agricola Sentiero Azzurro has launched a Farm Shop where you can find a variety of fresh fruits and vegetables, alongside local beers, wines, fruit juices, slushies, smoothies, lemonades, pasta, tomato juice, premium extra virgin olive oil, jams, pesto, and much more.
The Cinque Terre region lacks petrol stations, necessitating caution for
those traveling with limited fuel. It is advisable to avoid navigating
the narrow and steep roads in this area under such circumstances.
Nearest patrol station:
La Spezia in via Fieschi, just before the start of the
road to the Cinque Terre, about 13 km from Riomaggiore and Manarola, 26
km from Corniglia and Vernazza, 37 km from Monterosso.
Levanto just before the entrance to the historic center (after the
roundabout for Monterosso), about 10 km from Monterosso, 21 km from
Corniglia and Vernazza, 24 km from Riomaggiore and Manarola:
Please note that there aren't mosquito nets in the rooms.
As throughout Italy and in the Mediterranean sea in the Cinque Terre there are many insects: mosquitoes, bees, wasps, sand flies and much more.
There are not particular problems if you use mosquito spray before sunset and during the night (and during the day if you are allergic).
We suggest products based on Picaridin, a biocida product, like Autan Family Care or Autan Tropical, that you can buy in pharmacy. We advise against the use of repellent candles: in these areas they are little or not effective at all.
If you get stung by an insect
Apply a topical cream to relieve pain and relieve itching. Creams containing ingredients like hydrocortisone, local anesthetics (lidocaine or pramoxine) or antihistamines can help control pain. Other creams (example: calamine lotion) can soothe the itching of the skin.
If you are allergic or the itchiness and redness of the injured skin get worse or do not tend to resolve after a few days, you should contact your doctor or Guardia Medica.
Generally, small dogs, cats, and other pets, when secured in a kennel not exceeding dimensions of 70x30x50 cm, can travel for free in both first and second class across all train categories. Only one kennel per passenger is permitted. For larger dogs, they can travel as long as they are leashed and muzzled, with a ticket that costs half the regular fare. By boat, usually, access is allowed for small pets and medium size, always with leash and muzzle, suitably in bags or carriers.
Visiting
Once in the Cinque Terre, you can visit the five villages and trekking trails. However, it's not recommended to let dogs roam freely; they must be leashed due to wildlife and narrow, steep paths. Opt for autumn or spring and bring plenty of water, as summer can be tough for animals.
Beaches Cinque Terre beaches are small, pets are not allowed!
In Prevo hot water is supplied by electric boilers with a capacity of 80 liters each one. As the electric boiler takes about 1 hour to heat the water, it is necessary to use hot water sparingly (short showers, open the hot water tap the minimum necessary, etc.). If a guest uses a lot of hot water the other guests will have to wait about 1 hour before having more hot water.
Electric energy
In Prevo the electrical power of 6 kw (the maximum allowed for a private home). If this limit is exceeded, the main switch is released and the electric power no longer works and the main switch must be switched on again. Therefore electrical equipment must be used taking into account this limit.
EXAMPLE OF SIMULTANEOUS ELECTRICY CONSUMPTION
1 hairdryer consumes 2 kw 3 boiler for hot water consumes 3 kw 1 microwave consumes 1.8 kw Already these devices exceed the allowed limit, so remember to use them sparingly.
Danger do not use the electricy main switch with wet hands and barefoot. Only adults can access to electricy main switch. When the electricity consumption has exceeded the limit of more than 1 kw it is necessary to wait about an hour before electricy main switch can be switched on again.
Until now no one has ever complained about these aspects because all our guests have given serious consideration to these instructions. We invite you to do the same.

It is advisable to choose clothing and footwear that are suitable for the circumstances of rural living.
The use of open footwear and/or smooth-soled shoes, specifically those
lacking a non-slip sole such as Vibram, including sandals or flip-flops,
is prohibited. Violators will face penalties in accordance with
paragraph 2 of Article 30 of Law 392/91 and its subsequent amendments.
This regulation has been implemented due to the numerous incidents and
injuries that have occurred in the Cinque Terre over the years, as
tourists have often worn open shoes in areas where walking is
particularly challenging and hazardous. Consequently, as of April 1,
2019, the wearing of sandals and flip-flops is banned. Noncompliance
with this rule may result in fines ranging from 50 to 2500 euros.
Backpacks are suggested, but if you are travelling by train bringing large suitcases to stay here, we can pick you up from the Corniglia train station by our car. For free.
