It is the smallest of the five villages and is also the most
challenging to reach. Visitors must ascend the Lardarina staircase,
which consists of 382 steps, or alternatively, they may take a shuttle
bus from the train station.
Once in the village, the terrain is
relatively level.
Surrounded by vineyards and stone terraces, Corniglia offers a more
authentic atmosphere due to its size and limited accessibility,
resulting in fewer tourists.
While there are bars and restaurants
available, the village lacks a vibrant nightlife. Corniglia is
particularly suited for hikers and nature enthusiasts.
One of the prime
locations to witness the sunset in Cinque Terre is the terrace and bar
La Terza Terra, located at the end of the main street.
To reach the beautiful sunbathing and swimming area in Corniglia, one
must descend to the rocky beach, which takes approximately 10 minutes
via steep stairs. Look for the signs marked ‘Al Mare’ to guide your way.

We suggest the relatively straightforward
route from Corniglia to Vernazza, which features stunning gardens and
breathtaking views of the sea.
A recommended stop is at Prevo, situated
208 meters above sea level, where you can enjoy fantastic sea vistas at
the Farm Shop Azienda Agricola Sentiero Azzurro.
The duration of this walk is approximately 1 hour
and 30 minutes. To access this trail, our Guests don't need to buy the Cinque Terre Card.
The path from Corniglia to Manarola is renowned as one of the most
picturesque trails within the National Park. This route is considerably
challenging and may not be suitable for those who are unfit or timid.
The initial segment of the hike involves a steep ascent, followed by a
journey through a beautiful forest and terraced vineyards that cling to
the mountainside.
Unlike the Blue trail, this hiking path is entirely
free of charge.
