592-1 (SVA2)
Riomaggiore - Manarola

Trail length m 1112
Altitude
m 0
Time 00:30h

This stretch is known as via dell'amore and is a entirely paved walk overlooking the sea which allows in a very short time to reach the village of Manarola from that of Riomaggiore, showing significant panoramic views. It was made in the rock in the years 1926-1928, exploiting the acrobatic paths of the quarrymen who built the La Spezia-Genova railway at the end of the 19th century. In the short stretch of the Battery, the way of love runs on the vault of the railway gallery.
The entrances of Riomaggiore and Manarola are located on the entrances, near the railway stations, the reception and information centers of the park.

Manarola - Corniglia

Trail length m 2184
Altitude

Time
01:15h

Currently closed to transit due to landslides, from the Manarola station the path goes through a tunnel that leads to the village, at the end of which it turns left heading towards the sea. From here, it follows the Birolli promenade and begins to ascend. Just past the urban settlement, you come across a votive shrine known as the "Madonna del Luogo." Shortly after, the trail levels out and follows the outline of the Corniglia beach. Before reaching the village, to cross the unstable stony beach, there is a section equipped with a Tibetan bridge. You then enter the Corniglia train station and from there, a staircase leads you into the village.

Corniglia - Vernazza

Trail length m 4137

Time 01:45h

The trail enters the historical center of the village of Vernazza, crossing the main road and then climbing the village via a narrow street overlooking the Church of Santa Margherita d'Antiochia (14th century). It then steeply ascends through the land cultivated with olive trees and vineyards, traversing the Riolo valley and Costa Messorano. The path continues at an elevation along the Cravarla valley and Costa Linaro, where the Mediterranean scrub has fully colonized the area. Next, it enters the Acquapendente valley, where vineyards, olive groves, and citrus trees can be found. Approaching Monterosso, one can see the lemon crops sometimes sheltered from the wind by tall walls. Finally, the path reaches the rocky spur of Punta Corone and eventually arrives in the village of Monterosso.
