However, hiking is already exhausting without that added burden. By staying in one place, you can easily explore nearby villages, just minutes apart by train, which runs late enough for you to enjoy dinner in Vernazza before returning to your apartment in Prevo, or vice versa.

This approach saves time by eliminating the need to pack and unpack daily and avoids the hassle of checking in and out, as well as navigating steep steps with luggage. Pack lightly, as the villages of Cinque Terre have many stairs and no elevators.

Experience life as a local

When visiting the Cinque Terre, don't expect large international hotel chains.
While Monterosso has some hotels, room availability is limited due to space constraints, which helps preserve the area's charm.
